Shanag - Black-Hat-Magicians

Meaning:
- Sorcerers of black magic. It is their task to defeat the enemies of religion.

Characteristics:
  • - they never wear a mask
  • - black hat made from yak hair with broad brim, above there is a multi-coloured skull, and as the absolute climax there is a jewel intended for wishes or a thunderbolt
  • - fan-like arranged peacock feathers, frequently there are also found sashes hanging backwards down the brim
  • - long black silk dress with yellow and red ornaments
  • - often with a chain-like jewel decoration made from carved human bones

Attributes:
- In the one hand they hold a magic dagger or thunderbolt or a magic bell, and in the other hand they carry arrow and bow or a sword.

Dance:
- Steadily changing rhythm, round dance, grouping around the lead dancer and fast whirls, alternately.
